This paper presents a profile of visionary optometric and civic leader, Dr. C. Clayton Powell (1927-2020). After graduating from Morehouse College Chicago Optometry, he entered optometry practice in Atlanta, Georgia, embarked on lifetime service both local national stages. He is best known circles as co-founder first president the National Optometric Association.
